Dubai Police Installed New Cameras to Catch & Penalise Tailgating


Dubai Police has introduced new cameras that can hunt motorists who do not leave enough space with other cars.

Colonel Saif Al Mazroui said one camera has been installed and successfully tested on Hassa Road while 50 of them would be installed in 2014 and 100 in 2015.

According to reports, new black and grey camera has eight lenses and can distinguish between small and large vehicles as well as taxi cabs and other cars.

New cameras can detect offending drivers who come too close to other vehicles on motorways and other open streets with relatively high speed limits.

Traffic Alerts: AED 600 Fine, 6 Black Points for Overtaking on Hard-Shoulder


Dubai Police and the RTA reminds all motorists that the fine for overtaking on the hard-shoulder in Dubai is AED 600 and six black points.

Dubai Police tweeted this pic informing all motorists of the penalties for breaking the hard shoulder rule.

Pay Your Taxi Fare With Nol Card, Credit Or Debit Card In Dubai :

Taxi travellers in the Emirate of Dubai can now pay the fare by debit, credit or Nol card, announced by RTA (Road and Transport Authority). Now RTA began equipping vehicles with the new technology.

The main purpose is to facilitate tourists who often arrive in Dubai without any cash in hand or with little knowledge about the local currency, said CEO of the Public Transport Agency at the RTA.

By mid-2015, all 87,000 taxis in Dubai should have the new payment options available, the RTA confirmed.

Once the technology fully implemented, passengers will have four ways to pay their fare i e; cash, debit card, credit card or Nol card.

Note:
Payment by credit or debit card adds an extra charge of Dh2 to the fare and payment by Nol card will add Dh1.

Withdraw Cash With Your Emirates ID from Bank's ATM


A good news for the UAE residents that they will be able to use Emirates ID card to withdraw money from the ATM machines.

The amazing service will be ready in the next three months of this year.

Al Hilal Bank has announced that it will soon be the first bank in the United Arab Emirates to allow customers to use their Emirates ID cards to make ATM cash withdrawals.

However, customers will not initially be able to ditch their current bank cards, as the service will not be available for use in other banks’ machines, or at retail outlets.
